F.A.Q.
below is a list of commonly asked questions that we get. If these don't answer your questions feel free to contact us at 888.803.5887. We'll be happy to answer any questions free of charge. Can we see you perform? Sometimes! Because most of our performances are private functions (i.e., wedding receptions, corporate events, Mitzvah's, etc.) we don't feel it's appropriate for people to come check us out at their events. In any case, what we do for one client may not be what we do for you. You have your own style that's different from the last client we worked with. Some clients want hard rock, some want jazz, some want disco, pop, and so on. I think you get the idea. We also don't think you would like a stranger to come to your event. We are performing for you! We are not there to sell more events. The best thing for you to do is set up a time to meet with us to talk about your event. At this time we can show you refferals from past clients and take time with you in planning a tailor-made event. This is your event! We give you exactly what you want! This is why we are unable to invite you to see us perform. We hope you understand why we do this. The reason we say sometimes, however, is because we do perform at many community, and other events that are open to the general public. We post these events on our facebook page, so become a fan and find out where we will be performing that you can see us! click here to become a fan on facebook. Can we meet with our performer before booking? Depending on the performer absolutely. If you're talking about our DJ services, there is no question. Anytime you want to meet with your DJ to go over details, or just get to know them better is fine with us. Our DJs usually like to meet with our clients at least 6 weeks prior to your event, but whenever you want to meet we can be available.Do you require a deposit and when is the final payment due? We require a deposit and signed agreement to reserve your date. The final payment of the remaining balance for any event is due 7 days prior to your event date unless Strictly Fun, Inc. agrees other wise. We will gladly accept a credit card, personal check, certified check, cashier's check, money order or cash. When should we book our entertainment? The sooner the better! Some of the most popular dates can and do book as early as one year to two years in advance. We suggest to be prepared to book a DJ for a wedding early as 8-12 months before. Mitzvah's usually book 1 - 2 years or as soon as you know your event date. Depending on availability some dates remain open until the month before. So if you're planning an event in the next few months you should check our availability online. If you're just starting your planning, try to make your final decision as soon as possible to ensure our availability. Are your rates negotiable? Our rates are based on our cost of doing business as well as the value we place on each event. We take all events seriously and attend to each in a professional manner. We're not the cheapest around. We're certainly not the most expensive. But when you consider what you get for the money; the talent, the experience, the quality, the reliability, the extras we throw in, you quickly see the high value you get. You get a lot for your money! We're confident you will find our prices to be very competitive. If our prices are a bit more than you planned on spending, please remember the old saying we mentioned earlier "you get what you pay for." When you book Strictly Fun, Inc. you're not only paying for great entertainment services, you're paying for peace of mind.Do I tip the performer? Clients often ask us, whether or not they should TIP their performer and what the appropriate amount is. We feel that your gratuity is in no way mandatory and you should expect your entertainer to do a good job. If you are pleased and desire a guideline, we have calculated past tips ranging from $25-$100 with the average gratuity being around $40. When appropriate, gratuities should be paid directly to the performer. Are you insured? Can you supply me with proof of liability? Strictly Fun Entertainment holds a $1,000,000.00 liability insurance policy with HRH insurance and is a member of NAME: the National Association for Mobile Entertainers, and is able to provide proof of insurance upon request. Will your DJs be willing to play requests and discuss music ahead of time? A versatile Disc Jockey is willing to listen to your suggestions, give you feedback and play from your desired song list. A professional Disc Jockey will also accept the fact you may not want certain songs played. At Strictly Fun, Inc. we are all about communication. We will gladly accommodate requests given to us by our clients as well as guests at your events. When you book with us you will also have access to our online planning forms, song request lists, guest request lists, and more.Do you use Professional Equipment? Nothing but top of the line here at Strictly Fun. We use all of the top name brands and constantly update our equipment supply to ensure that you will have the best working equipment at your event. With names like Numark, Dennon, American DJ, Elation, and Chauvet, you know you are getting quality gear at your event. When we rent equipment, or hire a DJ, Do you provide backup equipment at my event? We always use top of the line equipment when doing our events, so the chances of malfunction are slim, however, we always have a back up system on standby, just in case.Does the performer know the proper etiquette for your type of party? All of our entertainers have years of experience behind them and have worked in all types of atmospheres with all types of themes and events. We will match you up with the perfect entertainer to provide the proper etiquette for your type of event. How early will your performer arrive at my event? Punctuality is a necessity. Depending on what the performer is doing will depend on arrival time. Our DJs setup time will depend on the amount of equipment we will be using - usually 1 1/2 - 2 hours is sufficiant time for setup and we will always be ready to go before any of your guests arrive. Other performers such as magicians, caricaturists, face painters, etc. may show up about 30 minutes prior to their start time to make sure they are ready to begin on time. Our performers always leave plenty of extra travel time to ensure that they will not miss your start time. Will your performer be suitably dressed for our occasion? Our DJs Emcees and Dancers always dress professionally. Usually the guys will be dressed in black dress clothes with a bright colored tie, and the girls will be dressed in all black with some bright colored accent pieces. None of our performers will show up in cut up jeans or sloppy t-shirts, unless of course it's part of the performer's character. In any case, if you prefer our performer to be dressed a certain way, just let us know and we will comply.Do you belong to a professional organization or trade group? Yes, we currently are members of N.A.M.E. the National association for mobile entertainers and have been a member since 2005. We are also currently members of the Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce. What do you like most about your job? Here at Strictly Fun, we love seeing smiles on people's faces. Everyone that works here does it because they have a passion for what they do, and enjoy seeing people have a good time. We bring a kind of magic to your events that will leave lasting impressions on all of your guests. We don't just show up, do our thing, and leave. We put in that extra effort, because we love to see you and your guests have the time of your lives. If we are setup and ready to go, and there is still time before we begin, you will always see Strictly Fun staff asking to assist you in any way to help you get ready for your big event. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do? There are several competitors in the northern suburbs of Chicago all fighting to prove they are the best at what we do, Entertain. However, no 1 company can possibly be available to entertain every event in one day, so there needs to be variety, and diversity within the industry. Every entertainment company is special in their own way. We each have our way of being different from each other. Our way is that we work extra hard to make sure that one event is nothing like the next. We make each event the client's vision and dream, and we never say no - Anything can be accomplished. Give us your wildest dream for your event, and we will turn it into a reality. At Strictly Fun, we ask "What do you want to see?" And we never tell you, "That won't work, you need to do it like this." We focus on the fact that our customers have been planning for their events for years, and we will do everything in our power to bring their vision to life.
